Gallows is a space station orbiting a planet in the Ashitaba sector. It is a freeport, meaning it's a meeting place for smugglers and pirates, and has a thriving black market.

The station is run by three competing gangs. A gang of pirates run the docks and entertainment district, a street gang runs the market and the residential areas, and The Union runs the hydroponics area and their engineers keep the station running. There is an uneasy stalemate between the three factions, but they are constantly poking and testing one another and trying to gain territory.
