Fourth among the Great Houses came House Kirsten. Entrusted to them was the spiritual care of the empire, that the people might be fulfilled in matters of both body and soul. They championed the spread of the Old Velucan beliefs and mastered magic as none can compare today.

House Kirsten suffered a great loss of face following the Schism, with many other houses blaming them for causing it through neglect. As a result the house has largely dissolved with only the rare mage aligning themselves to their heritage.

Due to sheer lack of opposing claimants, the currently accepted "Leader" of House Kirsten is Ben Kirsten, a mage who is currently kindling a movement to rebuild the long dormant house. Naturally this has marked him for death by a myriad of factions but his luck has held so far. His movement is in its infancy and his claim is weak but if successful he and any allies who aid him may become powerful people indeed so he's one to watch.
