Hatesh is an empire that officially follows the tenets of the New Velucan Faith, following the word of the god Veluca, God of the Pure. They are governed by Emperor Kal Trivan, who has seen fit to adopt an agenda of expansionism, with the new world as his first priority. While not overtly aggressive against the newly formed federation, it’s clear Emperor Kal Trivan hopes to return them to the fold, by force if necessary.
Inhabiting the western half of the old Rhodesian Empire, the climate of Haresh consists largely of grassland and forest to savannah biomes, with the grand Salakhan Desert, the largest in the old world, occupying a central location. Other landmarks of note include
-
Hatessa, Capital of Hatesh and largest city in the known world. Its sprawling districts are home to some of the most diverse groups in the old world. It’s considered the heart of civilization in the old world.
-
Coinmark Ridge, home of the mines that source a great deal of the silver and gold used in the nation's currency
-
Nilos valley, a highly fertile region on the coast that grows 47% of the nation's food
-
Ironroot Keep, ancestral home of house Granduul
Hatesh maintains an alliance with the Theocracy of Nimesh largely due to the two nations sharing religious beliefs (Both are officially nations that follow the New Velucan faith). Hatesh also maintains friendly relations with the Kingdom of Ossik, with the two powers viewing the rise of the Empire of Michino as a threat to their dominance.
Diplomatically speaking, they view the Triumvirate of Antinia as beneath their notice while the Tsardom of Harbia’s recent rapid rise in power and influence is considered a serious threat to be watched closely. Their main enemy remains Michino and the Lorresian Theocracy, and they continue to oppose them whenever opportunities present themselves. The Vitan Federation is considered a nuisance to be dealt with in time, so diplomatic channels barely exist between the two nations.
